New Layer – Layer 1

Brush – Selected ‘Grass Brush’ > Master Diameter = 134

EyeDropper Tool – Select Colour R=221 G=208 Y=177

I placed the Brush in the two bottom corners – The grass tool is random input so I had to erase and redo until I got what I wanted.

New_corby_logo

For this Stage of the image, I put in two images: One of the steelworks and the other of the Corby Cube. I did this by inserting these layers as separate layers by duplicating them to another open window (Layer > Duplicate Layer… > Destination Document etc…). I then brought them to the front and made then transparent by double clicking on the layer > Blending Options > General Blending > Opacity. I brought the opacity to a level that the Corby Logo could still be seen behind the image so that it seemed as though the Corby logo was in front of the images.

I then joined these images by adding a layer mask and making a gradient towards the image next to the other to seem as though it was fading into it. The Add Layer Mask Tool is near the bottom of the layers window by the side. I did the same with both images.

Evaluation

I chose to use Adobe Photoshop for this because it is one of the best editing and easy to use programs for this field of work. I was able to combine imagery suitable for this task while keeping it neat and not spending too much time on it. I chose to use the lighting in a way or dark to light because it shows the old to the new and the images further illustrate this effect. I chose mainly green and pearl with the dirty greys and whites to also show the new and old and to show the progress from one stage to another e.g. The Steelworks to the construction of the Corby Cube. I decided to make the image relatively medium sized as this was going to be on the flyer along with the logo and all so it would stand out from the logo. It uses bright colours and shades of all kinds to catch the eye and the lens flare helps create the lighter effe
